The ALA runs a series of automated data quality checks across all submitted records, these tests will flag records for completeness and consistency, adherence with the standard and expected values (e.g. coordinates between -180 and 180) and some outlier detection. Users of the ALA can also annotate records if they believe there is an issue.
If your data contains at least a recognisable species and location, we will load the record, and all other possible issues are noted with the record. Other ALA users can then decide whether or not your records are suitable for their individual purposes.
