The Export Checklist produces a list of species for a given area together with the number of occurrences recorded in that area.
Note these records reflect the data held in the Atlas, and not the list of all species potentially found within an area.
From the menu option, select Export, and then Area Checklist.
Select an area for the species checklist. You can use a previously mapped area (in this case a user defined area called Queanbeyan), a default area, or you can define an area now. To define an area, select the option Define new area... and work through one of the methods in Add area to select an area.
You can choose whether to include:
- records that have been checked and found to be spatially valid (recommended)
- records which may not be spatially valid
- and Endemic species
Pressing the Next button will produce a CSV file of all the Species and the number of occurrences.
Depending on your browser options you can save the file to your file system or open it online.
The fields in the CSV file are:
- Scientific Name with LSID (Life Science Identifier)
- Species Name
- Scientific Name Authorship
- Taxon rank
- Kingdom
- Phylum
- Class
- Family
- Genus
- Vernacular (Common) name/s
- Number of occurrence records
- Conservation status
- Invasive organism status
