As we prepare to retire the ALA Sandbox, it's important to ensure you have access to any data you've previously uploaded. After Friday 27 June 2025, these datasets will no longer be available.
To help you retain your data, we've provided simple steps to download your datasets before the Sandbox is retired. Follow the instructions below to secure your data for future use.
For new data uploads, please refer to our support article on the Spatial Portal’s "Import points" feature.
1. Go to sandbox.ala.org.au, then click the ‘My uploaded datasets’ button in the top right of the page.
2. Locate a dataset on your list that you wish to download, then click the ‘View records’ button.
Note that you can change the ordering, filter, and navigate by page as needed.
3. A new page will open with a list of your points/records shown. Click the orange ‘Download’ button in the top right.
4. Select your preferred file name and format, your download reason, then click ‘Next’. Your download will begin.
5. Once finished, click 'Download now' to download the zip file, which will include a CSV file with data.
